This tier list is a planning reference for the current public character data, not a final launch ranking. Sea of Remnants has not fully released, and character balance may change across tests, trailers, and launch builds. The list is most useful when it helps players compare roles: damage, support, survival, utility, and team pressure.
SS characters are strong early recommendations because they have clear role value in the available data. S characters look powerful but may depend more on team setup, enemy type, or route planning. A characters are still useful and should not be ignored, especially if their faction or skill pattern fits a player's roster. B characters are lower-priority planning picks, not unusable characters.
Ranking Criteria
The ranking considers public role labels, skill identity, faction context, and how easy a character is to understand before final balance data is available. It does not use hidden test values unless those values are visible in the character pages. Characters with incomplete public data may move when more information is verified.
Players should use the tier list together with individual crewmate pages. A character's biography, faction, attribute, and skill details can explain why they rank where they do. A lower-ranked character may still be valuable for a specific team, story preference, or ship plan.
